Our Marching Artists

I am an electronic music producer, private instructor, classical composer, and marching arts arranger.

HORYZIN Music came about through my love of music and wish to share my passion with the world…

Beginning as a classical musician, I naturally challenged what was given to me. I always came up with new and innovative ways to make the meaning of the music I was performing become amplified and shown to the maximum capacity. This quickly translated to my music creation; no more was I simply going to perform interesting music, but I was going to create interesting music filled with meaning.

With composition came arrangements and my involvement in the marching arts. As a 4 year veteran in a marching band, I had taken up arranging some of my favorite tunes and pieces for marching band and drum corps. What started simply as a hobby soon became something I took more seriously. From compiling entire programs for marching band and drum corps to being hired to write and arrange show music, this became more than a mere hobby. I now work for the newly established Crimson Rangers Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Austin, Texas and continue to be on their design team. An experience I particularly enjoy!

I am a marching arts arranger and show designer.

I joined HORYZIN Music to have an outlet for my creative endeavors and positively impact musicians in the process.

By nature, I am someone more inclined in storytelling and artistic expression–so discovering and becoming a part of the marching arts has showed to become my strongest passion. In a way, Jimmy and I have followed very similar paths; we want to create interesting and meaningful music that inspires others like music has inspired us.

At first, I mainly just wrote small segments of thematic material without any real music theory training (and to clarify, the “at first” lasted for a long time). Over time, however, I have been exposed to many different bands and additionally many different kinds of music. I accredit this (plus a little bit of AP music theory) to how far my music writing “horizons” have expanded. Now, conceptualizing and writing marching band shows comes naturally and could come into play for your program.
